The Facility
The Area9 Mastery Diving Research Center offers everything you need in one convenient location, including access to Bonaire's pristine training site, Oil Slick Leap. Custom-made exploration gear is seamlessly returned to our headquarters for re-equipping and preparation for the next day’s mission. The satellite facility features a fully operational fill station, workshop, training areas, rinse tanks, and overnight storage, ensuring full support for even the most rigorous training programs.

The only 20m pool in Bonaire…
Area9 Mastery Diving Research Center is proud to offer the only 20-meter training pool on Bonaire, located conveniently next to our satellite operation in front of Oil Slick. This unique facility is dedicated to specialized dive training, making it an ideal environment for initial open water practice, dry suit familiarization, and DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle) training.
In addition to this exclusive 20-meter pool, Area9 also provides access to a secondary pool at Barcadera 1, often where our guests stay, which supports additional pool training and physical fitness sessions. Together, these pools allow us to offer a comprehensive training experience, ensuring divers have the best facilities to develop their skills and conditioning.
House Reef
A literal stone's throw away…
The house reef at Area9 Mastery Diving Research Center is a diver’s dream, located just 25 meters from our satellite operation and offering easy access to dive experiences for all levels. Whether you’re on your first Open Water dive or aiming for 60-meter Tech 2 dives, this proximity means you can gear up and enter the water within minutes. Divers can enjoy the reef’s vibrant marine life throughout the day, exploring how the underwater landscape changes with different lighting conditions.
This unique access to the house reef provides an ideal setting for skill practice, underwater photography, and all types of training—making every dive easy, convenient, and unforgettable.

At Area9 Mastery Diving Research Center, our newly built facility combines modern comfort with state-of-the-art resources to create an ideal environment for diver training and education. Purposefully designed to support the needs of both recreational and technical divers, our center boasts an exceptional classroom space equipped with an interactive 85’ Smart TV. This high-resolution display enables immersive dive theory sessions where divers can explore complex concepts through engaging visual aids and videos. The interactive capabilities of the Smart TV also allow for a hands-on learning experience, enabling instructors to annotate directly on presentations, use interactive dive planning tools, and facilitate real-time Q&A sessions to clarify any questions immediately.
At Area9 Mastery Diving Research Center, our fill panel and compressor setup are engineered to meet the rigorous demands of both technical and recreational divers, ensuring the highest standards of performance and reliability. Our state-of-the-art compressor room is equipped to deliver fast, efficient fills for all breathing gas needs, including air, nitrox, trimix, and pure oxygen, allowing divers to prepare without delay. With high-capacity compressors specifically calibrated for precise gas mixes, and multiple storage banks ensuring a constant supply of top-quality breathing gas, we offer a streamlined and dependable system that supports both immediate fills and custom gas blending for specialized dive profiles.
